A determined Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos has been acknowledged for her exceptional co-curricular commitment with a high-profile honour.

Tallulah Batley, a Year 13 pupil at the school, has successfully completed her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award following a strenuous assessment process.

The joint Deputy Head Girl managed to secure the prestigious distinction under the expert guidance of programme co-ordinator Dr Jim Lewis to ensure she adds her name to the long list of success stories emanating from Rydal Penrhos.

In order to achieve the accolade, Tallulah had to take part in gruelling expeditions under testing conditions along with other candidates, and she will now attend a ceremony at St James’ Palace later this year with other successful pupils from across the country to receive her award.

She formally received her coveted Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award badge at Rydal Penrhos weekly Celebration Chapel on Friday, January 31.

Senior School head Sally Ann Harding, said: “Tallulah has spent the entirety of her secondary school education at Rydal Penrhos, and for her to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award is a truly exceptional achievement.

“She is a fantastic role model for younger members of the school community, is constantly looking to better herself and everyone at Rydal Penrhos is absolutely thrilled for Tallulah and what she continues to achieve.”
