A Sixth Form pupil at Rydal Penrhos is celebrating after receiving a conditional offer to study at one of the finest further education establishments in the world.
Cassie Parry, a Year 13 pupil at the school, has received a conditional place to read English at Homerton College Cambridge pending the necessary A Level results this summer.
The pupil, who arrived at Rydal Penrhos at the start of her Sixth Form journey, is currently studying English, Drama and Psychology at A Level and has played a leading role in various school concerts thanks to her strong vocal ability.
Cassie also showcased her performing arts skills as part of the Dramatic Society production of Les Miserables last year.
Twenty per cent of Upper Sixth Formers at the school applied for Oxbridge places this year, with half reaching the interview stage, which represents a significant achievement.
Homerton received its Royal charter in 2010 affirming its status as a full College of Cambridge University.
The College celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2018.
Senior School Head Sally Ann Harding, said: “This is an outstanding achievement and one that Cassie has worked incredibly hard to gain.
“She is a likeable individual who has really excelled during her time at Rydal Penrhos, which is further evidence of the strong academic ethos we have towards a well-rounded education and our rich history of providing value added to each pupil living and learning at the school.
“We are enormously proud of Cassie and will be working closely with her and all our Sixth Formers to ensure their goals are met.”
