A NEW self-help guide from a leading business expert offers 60-second tips on how to cope with the demands of modern working life.
Meee in a Work Minute follows the successful Meee in a Minute, which has already sold up to 20,000 copies since being released last autumn.
Based in North Wales, the Meee (My Education Employment Enterprise) programme has helped transform the lives of more than 20,000 people in the last five years via a series of career clinics, think tanks and workshops.
Founder Sid Madge, from Deganwy, has given talks to some of the world’s leading companies, but also visited schools, prisons and community groups to help combat mental health issues, improve wellbeing and mindfulness, and explore better ways to cope with the stresses and strains of an increasingly challenging professional landscape.
Meee in a Work Minute is a collection of short tips, exercises, insights and ‘hacks’ on how to find balance and fall back in love with your job, after a recent study found that 85% of employees feel disengaged and lack motivation.
Sid speaks to hundreds of businesses every year across the UK, from SMEs to PLCs, and plans to expand into Europe and beyond in the future.
He believes everyone should have access to crucial support and advice.
“The book is for everyone, especially those who do not have the means to capitalise on life and business coaching sessions,” said Sid, who has worked with global giants including Shell, Kellog’s, GSK, John Lewis, Visa and Tesco.
“When I was a brand strategist in London, we worked with some of the top creative agencies and I myself became frustrated at the ethos of making lots of money for huge companies and forgetting what’s important – the people.
“The Meee project is about inclusion and accessibility, it appeals to every type of person and many different sectors and organisations because we all have one thing in common, and that’s a lack of time.”
He added: “Every chapter is based on a minute, and what we can do quickly and easily to make a difference in our day to day lives. I’ve used these techniques in my own life and professionally, from psychology and neuroscience to education and sociology.
“Sometimes we need a shift in our mindset and to look from the outside in. By having short, snappy messages and exercises it’s simpler to achieve.”
Sid will unveil the new title at a free event in St David’s Park Hotel, Ewloe, on Monday October 7, from 8.30am to 11am.
As well as the launch and a book signing there will be networking, refreshments and a one-hour workshop.
“There are more than eight billion people on the planet, and we are all different,” said Sid.
“But to have a tool that’s accessible and can appeal to all is vital, especially for company owners and HR teams, for example.
“For just a few pounds this is a resource that can be used by anyone, and it’s from the heart.
“I’m dyslexic so I find it difficult spending days writing words down, which is why this works for me and the first book was so well-received. The reviews have been incredible, we’ve had a brilliant response from readers all over the world.”
He added: “The most important thing I’m trying to get across is that whether you’re in a high-powered profession, at school or in what you believe is a mundane job, your mental health is a priority, it’s everything.
“If you combine that with resilience and mindfulness, we can achieve positive results. If we all work together – however that is – we can achieve anything.”

Sid Madge is a brand strategist and founder of The Meee Programme. Over the past 30 years, he has worked with many of the world’s largest brands and run and worked for some of Europe’s most renowned creative agencies.
After relocating North Wales in 2009 he set himself the challenge of building a branding agency in the middle of nowhere, knowing no one. He wanted to see how far he could get in 10 years. Five years ago he realised his talents were needed elsewhere. During a session he was running for a class at a local school on enterprise he asked pupils what ‘one word would they use to describe’ themselves. He was horrified that 15% used words like ‘freak’, ‘weirdo’, ‘misfit’ and ‘abnormal’. Over the next 2 years he asked the same questions to not only school, college and university students but also adults of all ages. The answers sadly were the same. The insights he uncovered were that people don’t believe in themselves and that more than ever there’s much more uncertainty about peoples futures whatever age. Add to this the staggering statistics of anxiety, depression and suicide rates in the UK and around the world he knew he could do something to help.
The Meee Programme was born. Bringing together ideas and research from branding, psychology, neuroscience, education and sociology, it aims to help people believe in who they are. So far, Meee has reached over 2,800 people in businesses, Jobcentres, rehabilitation agencies, prisons, schools and more.
Since then he’s not looked back and is now working with businesses, Jobcentres, rehabilitation agencies, prisons and educational establishments.
